Objective
Combine four numbers with +, −, ×, ÷ to reach exactly 24. There's always at least one way to reach 24 with the given numbers — the challenge is spotting the right order of operations.
How to play
- Look at the four numbers shown.
- Tap two number tiles to select them.
- Tap an operator (+, −, ×, ÷) to combine the selected pair into one new number.
- Repeat until only one number remains — get it to exactly 24 to win.

About Target 24
Target 24 gives you four numbers and asks you to combine them with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division until a single number remains, and that number must be exactly 24. You pick two tiles, choose an operator, and the pair merges into one result. Every puzzle has at least one solution, so the fun is in hunting for the clever route. It is a fast mental arithmetic workout.
Tips and strategy
- Look for easy pairs that make 3 and 8, 4 and 6, or 2 and 12 first. Many solutions work by reaching one of these factors of 24.
- Do not forget division. Turning a sum or a quotient into a small whole number, like dividing 8 by 8 or 6 by 3, often opens a route.
- Intermediate results may be fractions, and the game allows them. If whole numbers fail, try dividing to create a fraction that a later multiplication brings back.
- Aim for multiplication last. Many solutions build two numbers and then multiply them, such as 3 times 8 or 4 times 6.
- If you reach a dead end, the Reset button brings a fresh set of numbers, so think hard before giving up. Reading the intermediate result shown under the tiles helps you spot where a route went wrong.
What it exercises
Target 24 gives practice in mental arithmetic, number sense and flexible problem solving. You learn to see factors, try different orders of operations and back out of dead ends, which strengthens the habit of testing several strategies before settling on one.
Frequently asked questions
- How do you play the 24 game?
- Tap two of the four numbers, then tap +, minus, times or divide to merge them into one tile. Keep going until one number is left. If that number is exactly 24, you win.
- Can every set of numbers make 24?
- In this game, yes. Each puzzle is checked by the game so that at least one way to reach 24 exists. The Reveal a Solution option shows one such route if you are stuck.
- What do the difficulty levels change?
- The levels change the size of the numbers. Easy uses numbers from 1 to 6, medium from 1 to 9, and hard from 1 to 13, so harder rounds can include larger values and trickier combinations.
Try next
Number Chain
Connect every cell in the grid in strict numeric order using the given clue numbers. The clue numbers anchor the path — the goal is connecting every cell in one unbroken line running strictly from the lowest number to the highest.
Digit Drop
Clear adjacent number blocks that sum to the target value, with cells falling to fill gaps. Blocks keep falling to refill the grid, so the challenge is spotting valid target-sum pairs quickly and keeps changing as the board settles.
Grid Sums
Fill a small grid with digits 1-9 so every row and column matches its sum clue. A compact numeric logic puzzle — every digit you place has to satisfy both its row's sum clue and its column's sum clue at once.
