Objective
Fill grid cells to reveal a hidden pixel-art picture, guided by row and column clues. A classic picture-logic puzzle (aka Picross) — the row and column clues fully determine the picture, so every cell can be deduced rather than guessed.
How to play
- Read the number clues along each row and column.
- Tap cells to fill them in, matching the clue pattern.
- Fill every cell correctly to reveal the hidden picture.

About Nonogram
Nonogram, also called Picross, turns numbers into pixel art. A five-by-five grid is surrounded by clues telling you how many filled squares appear in a row or column and how they are grouped. You fill squares to match those clues, and when every square is correct a hidden picture appears. There is no luck involved, since the clues give you everything you need, and the quiet satisfaction of a solved picture is the whole appeal.
Tips and strategy
- Start with the biggest clues. A clue of 5 on a five-square line means every square in that line is filled, and a clue of 0 means none is.
- Read each clue as groups. A clue like 1 1 needs two separate single squares with at least one gap between them, which limits where they can sit.
- Work across rows and columns together. A square you fill from a row clue often confirms or contradicts a column clue, and that cross-check is the main technique.
- Be careful with taps, since every tap toggles a square between filled and empty. Tapping a filled square again simply clears it.
- If you are stuck, use Show Solution to see the highlighted answer squares, then try again on a new puzzle to apply what you learned.
What it exercises
Nonogram builds logical deduction, pattern recognition and patience. You cross-reference two sets of clues, hold partial results in mind, and gradually reveal an image, which is a pleasant way to practise step-by-step reasoning. Because every cell can be worked out from the clues, it also rewards careful, methodical thinking over speed.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I read the numbers next to a nonogram?
- Each number is the length of a run of filled squares in that row or column. Several numbers mean several separate runs, listed in order, with at least one empty square between them.
- What does a 0 clue mean?
- A 0 means that row or column has no filled squares at all, so you can leave every square in that line empty.
- Is there more than one nonogram picture?
- Yes. The grid is five by five and the game picks from a small set of pictures, so the picture can change when you start a new puzzle.

Reveal every safe cell using the adjacent-mine-count numbers, without triggering a mine. The classic logic-deduction game — every revealed number is a hard constraint on its neighboring cells, and the goal is using those constraints to clear the whole board without ever guessing into a mine.
