I am thinking of a two-digit number. If you reverse my digits and add the new number to me, the sum is 88. The difference between my two digits is 2. What number am I?
53
Let the number be 10x + y. Reverse is 10y + x. Sum = 11(x + y) = 88, so x + y = 8. The difference x - y = 2. Solving these gives x = 5, y = 3.
