Three boxes are labeled 'Gold', 'Silver', and 'Bronze'. Inside one box is a gold coin, inside another is a silver coin, and the third is empty. Every single label is placed incorrectly on the boxes. If you are allowed to open only one box, which one must you open to know the exact contents of all three?
The box labeled Silver
Since all labels are wrong, the 'Silver' box cannot contain silver. If you open it and find gold, you know the 'Bronze' box must be silver (since Bronze can't be silver either) and the 'Gold' box is empty. If you find it empty, you trace the remaining contradictions similarly.
